Practical Details

There are two ways to get to my cottage.

1. Fly into Bangor, Maine and I am 30 miles from the airport.  My address is 58 Hersey Retreat Road, Sandy Point, Maine 04972.  Please look at the Sandy Point Pointers  I have attached.  I make this for the people who rent the cottage and there are many great tips on how to enjoy the area.   I live 30 miles from Acadia National Park which is the second most visited national park for a reason.  With that in mind and considering if you want to tour, you should probably plan on your own wheels but if you arrive by 3:00 pm on July 3, 2014…someone will pick you up.  I have PLENTY of parking.

2. Fly into Boston and drive up on 95 (about 4.5 hours) turning at Augusta and going through Belfast, Maine.  OR Drive up route 1 which will take about 10 hours at that time of year but is quite beautiful.

3. Bring both cool and warm clothes.  It is the Maine coast and you never know.
4.  I have the cottage rented on July 11th but there seems to be some interest in going to Vinalhaven ( my favorite Maine island and home of the largest lobster fleet in the world).  If you are interested in that option, I need to know soon.  The hotel hangs over the water but books up early.

5. Inviting other collaborators.  I have room for a few more but would like to encourage you invite people who are serious about public art and collaboration.  I will be applying for several large federal grants and we need people committed to the PROJECT, not to themselves.
