You need to know your audience to be an effective teacher. 

Create a grid detailing the ethnographic stats in your community. 

 

WHO IS YOUR AUDIENCE?  HOW MIGHT YOU USE DIGITAL CURRICULUM STRATEGIES TO MEET THEIR NEEDS?

Empirical, Interpretive /Symbolic and Critical Theory Research Project.  Plot your stats in an Excel document. Use the Excel graphics options in your report. Identify emerging trends and your strategies for appropriate curriculum development. Include an analysis of your findings.

Qualifiler on cultural demographics:

 

Demographic profiling is essentially an exercise in making generalizations about groups of people. As we have learned in our paradigm study (Click here to review paradigm worldviews),  can present challenges. 

Many individuals within these groups will not conform to the profile - demographic information is aggregate about groups, not about specific individuals.

Critics of demographic profiling argue that such broad-brush generalizations can only offer such limited insight that their practical usefulness is debatable. However, we need to make an effort to know our school audience. We have to start with a baseline.
